Change of heart

Share post ->

In Dec 25, 2007, I signed a contract to God that I would seek Him first in everything I do.

A few weeks later, I visited my previous English pastor at Rhode Island.  Before his congregation, he stood up and introduced me….

This is Cliff.  Did you know he sign a contract to God? [make a signature sign in the air]  Do you hear that?  He is going to serve the Lord fully.”

I was sitting in the front, stunned and felt a bit embarrassed he put me on the spot.

Before I headed back to Mississauga, he told me (and my friends) that someday we would be missionaries.

That was about three years ago.

I visited him this summer.  As we discussed how the Lord had been working in my life, I told him what he said three years ago…at that time, I was in dis-belief.  Now it is foreseeable.

Funny how things can change in a short three years. How God can change one’s heart.

Dusting off this blog

Fruit for thought: The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill

I recently finished listening to the whole series of podcasts on The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. It has been a sobering podcast to listen to. I highly recommend for those who are in seminary or going to ministry full-time to listen to. It is a good reminder that

Five Books Recommended for Christian Parents

Here are a few books I highly recommend for Christian parents. I read them for my M Div thesis. My thesis was persuading how parents should discipling their children, not the church. Book #1 – The Disciple-making Parent by Chap Bettis I never thought my role as a father was
