Gel: 1 during run
Weight before: 149 lb
Weight after: 149 lb
Distance: 15 km
Intensity: 1/3 Light 1/3 Medium 1/3 Hard
Time Started: 6:24 pm
Time Ended: 8 pm??
Duration: 1 hr 36 min (96 min)
Weather: Light wind with the sun (25 degrees)

Today is the first run after my LSD on Sunday. The quads start to fill sore after 3-4 km. However, my adrenaline kicked in and I was fine. My last km was very fast pace. I was surprised I have a lot in me to keep going. Legs were sore after the run.

I ran down the Credit River trail. It was very nice. By the trees and no concrete. Also saw a few runners. I bought a gel with me b/c I didn’t eat anything before I head out. Good idea. 3/4 of the way, I was getting mighty hungry. I ran out of my Gatorade as well. I stopped by the gas station, bought a bottle of water (500 ml for 2.17 PRICEY) and took my gel. I guessed that gel must have given me that energy to finish so fast.

I figure I will do this same path on Friday. Tomorrow will be my light (recovery) jog. 6-7 km around the block. Nothing heavy.

I am surprised that my weight has increased by4 lbs in the past three days. I will keep tabs on that. Right now I am not too concerned.

Added William’s blogger on my links. He is also training for the Toronto marathon. Maybe I will see him there. Thanks for the encouragement.

Dusting off this blog

I have been blogging since 2005. That’s almost 20 years! Though not very consistent. What started with a triathlon blog turned into a Christian blog. And I stopped blogging in 2011 after I came to Singapore. These days, I’ve shared most of my thoughts on social media (Facebook, Instagram and

Fruit for thought: The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill

I recently finished listening to the whole series of podcasts on The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. It has been a sobering podcast to listen to. I highly recommend for those who are in seminary or going to ministry full-time to listen to. It is a good reminder that

Five Books Recommended for Christian Parents

Here are a few books I highly recommend for Christian parents. I read them for my M Div thesis. My thesis was persuading how parents should discipling their children, not the church. Book #1 – The Disciple-making Parent by Chap Bettis I never thought my role as a father was
