Walk the Talk

Share post ->

Today during lunch, a friend told me that he respected me because I walk the talk.

I laugh out stating that I don’t.  To be honest, sometimes I do not enjoy what I say because the instant I said it, I have to act according to it.

This morning we were singing Hosanna by Hillsong United…

There’s one part of the lyric that struck me…

…everything for Your Kingdom cause…

I often wonder, am I living this out? Can I give up everything for His Kingdom?  It is easy to sing and easy to blog. Just as easy to Bible study on it or talk about it.

When we have to walk the talk..or in triathlon, toe the line…this is where the rubber meets the wheel.  In my previous post, I mentioned that I am mouse of faith. It is true. I often say something and it feels like the shoes are way too big for me to fit.

I remembered last year in Prayer Meeting that one of the items I prayed for is for God to use me anyway I can.  One of the older Christian brothers said, ‘You gotta be careful how you pray because God will answer it.’

Well, I can’t share too much here. But oh man, does God ever reply. So I am here again. In the same place.  Where I stand between two paths.  I see the path of comfort and the norm.  I see the path of seeking His Kingdom at ALL cost.

If you are the  praying type, please pray for me.  If God’s Way, He will provide.  If it is His Will, then I will as well.

I can’t tell you how crazy the past few weeks been.  Going to Cambodia.  Visit Hagar International and now preparing for the biggest decision in my life.  All are just prayers from last year.  God opens door one after another.  Thanks!!!!

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Dusting off this blog

I have been blogging since 2005. That’s almost 20 years! Though not very consistent. What started with a triathlon blog turned into a Christian blog. And I stopped blogging in 2011 after I came to Singapore. These days, I’ve shared most of my thoughts on social media (Facebook, Instagram and

Fruit for thought: The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill

I recently finished listening to the whole series of podcasts on The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. It has been a sobering podcast to listen to. I highly recommend for those who are in seminary or going to ministry full-time to listen to. It is a good reminder that

Five Books Recommended for Christian Parents

Here are a few books I highly recommend for Christian parents. I read them for my M Div thesis. My thesis was persuading how parents should discipling their children, not the church. Book #1 – The Disciple-making Parent by Chap Bettis I never thought my role as a father was
