Ironman Haiwaii 1989, Dave Scott v Mark Allen
This just in. Got this off Ironmantalk (thanks Beaven).
There are six parts. Just look at Beavan’s profile.
Team Hoyt in action….

Cast those doubts aside… These past few days, I felt anxiety and nervousness about the coming race. Part of it Is that I haven’t cast my anxiety aside. If you look at what I have been thinking, you will see they are self sabotaging. What if I fail and not reach my expectation of my race? I ran the distance before. What if this time I don’t make it. What if I blow up before I...

Don’t Let Nobody Steal Your Joy An excrept from Breakthrough Triathlon Training, pg. 23: “Australian Greg Welch embodied this spirt during this career….one dramatic example of his pure motivation and outstanding attitude came at the Haiwaii Ironman races of 1993 and 1994. …on his final bike ride bfore flying to the island [Haiwaii], he was struck by a car two miles from...

Taper, Cranky, Bike Weekend Summary (Aug 14 – 20) Was listening to Ironmantalk. Espidoe 9, Beaven and John talked about tapering. Tapering DOES NOT mean stopping. Keep the intensity and reduce the volume. This is the last mile and I have to focus. I did a run yesterday and my legs were tired. This means I ain’t resting enough. I got a new mp3 player last week and ever since then, I...

Weekend… Just a brief post before I head to bed. Yesterday was the most painful training session ever. 100 k bike + 10 k run (ok..actually it was 9.74 km). The bike consisted of a two 50 k loops. A mix of hills and flats. Perdominatly flats. My 1/2 IM on Sept 3rd is all flats. So I figure I stick with the flats to stimulate closer to actual race course. A few weeks ago Darren ask me...

Triathlete Stalker…
Matthew (Inigo_Montoya) sent me his picture from 1/2 Peterborough Ironman (my A race in July). Most of the pics turned out I am either in front or behind him. I guess the name Triathlete Stalker is more appropriate 🙂

Whose that guy on the left??

DRAFTING!!
Much better
Inigo_Montoya in the front taking a sip and I am the last guy in the back.
Stalker on the right

Gone cyclingI have some doubts about going long after last weekend when my legs were super tired. This is all in my head. Be serious now. Sunny, cool weather. Hours on the road. What more can I want? Yesterday, I mapped out a route from my city to Cambridge. The whole trip ain’t that far. About 116 km (72 miles). I tried to go to places I haven’t gone before. So today is the day. YES...

Weekly Summary (Aug 6 – 12) Swim Focus The good– swim a lot, almost hit 10 km (9.65 km), worked out the left stroke– a long run that last more than 2 hour (it was only 20 min more but I haven’t done one for a long time) The bad– traffic jam, lack of sleep + stress from Church activities made me bail out exercise on thurs– volume is a lot less but felt just as...

Toasted… My mind is not thinking too straight right now. I was suppose to take a nap but my stop watch keeps beeping. It has an alarm option…argh…. Anyways, just to summarize my weekend… On Sat suppose to go to an open water swim with Darren. It is organized by C3. I couldn’t find the lake and decided to bike myself. My legs were heavy. On thurs, I bailed on the bike...
