Transplant Games – Day 3 and 4 Brutal winter weather we are having in Brisbane. It’s 30*C and sunny everyday. Horrible!!! A few days ago saw a few whales splashing in the sea while talking with a roommate on the patio. WOW! All my games are done. Did a 4 by 50 freestyle relay yesterday…try to jump in the pool, more like sink like a rock :DDD. Rode along the coast today...

It happens So today was the 5 km bike time trial. It is set up to race 4 laps in a 1.4km loop. Since it is a time trial (you race against time), one rider goes every 60 seconds. The track was amazing. It is like formula one except you are on your bike..(which is even better). There are a short steep climb over the bridge..a bit of incline..S-curves..I LOVE IT. The Canadian crew was...

Transplant Games Day 1-2 – a much delayed flight to down south. Glad to be in Gold Coast…and my bike is here as well 🙂 – yesterday did a 5 km run race. Awesome. 2nd overall. The third place was creeping up to me at the end. Someone yelled ‘Cliff, he is behind you’ 400 m from the end. Had to run hard. Didn’t realize I have that in me at the end. – crazy...

Every once in a while, very rarely, something would happen and one of the performers would be imbued with something transcendent. “And I know you know what I’m talking about,” she said. “Because I know you’ve all...

The Forbidden Fruit

T

15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.” – Genesis 2 I am reminded of the forbidden fruit. God made other trees as well...

A Desire for a new world

A

I think sometimes I get stuck in the only Christian desire a new earth (and new heaven)…. When I listen to a song like this, I can’t help but to see that those who don’t know Christ have a desire for a new world too when we look at the brokeness of today’s culture 🙂 They gotta war for oil, a war for goldA war for money and a war for soulsA war on terror, a war on drugsA...

Sport Ministry

S

Email I sent last night.. I was just thinking about my triathlon. I was sharing with a brother tonight that I was glad when I was a new Christian, my pastor gave me lots of patience and grace and let me get into this. He could have easily say “Oh Cliff, you know Sunday is a time for church and to worship the Lord. Why are you doing your races then? Don’t you love the Lord?” I...
