Personal Calling Statement

P

Last night, I went to a friend, also a missionary, session on Missions. One of the exercise is to develop a personal calling statement. Like Paul wrote in Ephesian 2:10: For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV) Here’s mine (still a working progress): For I, Cliff Tam, despite having a heart of a Pharisee...

A few random thoughts

A

Last night, I couldn’t sleep. It was 2 am and I could not stop praising God. The paper was simply awesome. Not because of the paper per say. Rather of how God revealed His nature through Moses in the Bible. It’s amazing…Yes, God was angry and He had every reason. His people kept rebelling and grumbling against Him. Yet at the same time, I see God’s grace and mercy ever...

Paper is done

P

I just finished.

Wow. There were so much to discuss. I never seen so many patterns of Moses. One thing for sure. The Lord mold and shape his heart throughout his ministry.

He was not the same man!

I will probably do a bit of reflection on here soon.
Now…time to go to bed..

I felt like I am back in the uni days 😉

Clutter

It is easy to write a blog post. Yet when it comes to a ten page essay, it seems everything I wrote is in riddles and in bits and pieces.

A paper is due this Sun and I can barely put a few thoughts together.

Though, in the long run, this is a minor thing.

Stop despairing, my soul…for there are bigger things to focus on.

Unity in Christ: Beyond race and nationality

Before Jesus was taken up to Heaven, He told the disciples the following: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8) The verse is an introduction for the book of Acts. The apostles shared Jesus in Jerusalem…then they went off to Judea and Samaria….then...

To study the Bible…

T

When I first went to church, I had a pastor who taught us how to study the Bible. I remember there were a few Saturdays where our congregation will gathered together and my pastor would give us group exercise. I didn’t give much thought about it. Looking back, I am very thankful and blessed that he instill me and my congregation on loving the Word of God and reading the Scripture in context...

Dark Corners

D

As our world is connected globally, dark corners is right around our neighborhood. It brings the second commandment..to love your ‘neighbors’ as yourself to a whole new level. What I notice… – The guy who mentioned…this is heaven.. – it is a multi-billion dollar industry – a child worth more than a cattle… Indeed…what kind of place is...

Repost: Everyday Justification

R

Picked this up from Tim Chester’s blog. This is quite a good post on how to live everyday as a Christian. So that now that we are saved, so what? It becomes clear to me, that everyday living, there is a lot of angst, frustration and worries, which digging deeper are me trying to prove myself to myself and others. Many of us are confident we’ll be justified on the last day – acquitted before...

Thoughts: Leadership, Moses….

T

Just putting some thoughts that have been on my mind lately. A few years ago when I was leading fellowship, there was a argument between two groups. Things were said and feelings were hurt. I cried to my pastor for help. We had a talk among everyone. Well…both group left the church. I cannot say they left the church because of this. Granted, I got a feeling that some did not feel the church...
