Yesterday’s training + email…

Just to recap what I did yesterday.

Hill Repeat ~ 30′
– HR kept from 150 – 178
– five times repeat

Swim ~ 25′
– pull, 20 laps (1 km)
– HR at 140-150 (better than before when it hit 160s)

The run, my legs ache. They are still tired from yesterday. I just push them through. By the last repeat, I was feeling strong.

The swim, my arms ache. After swimming open water, I can’t swim straight no more. I kept bumping into the lane line.

I sent out an email last night to my Christian brothers and sisters..thought I like to share with you guys as well..

…..

Hey all,

Eekk…it is 11:30 pm and it is way pass my curfew. I definitely in need of a prayer request (or praise, depend how you see it). Today I received a call from a head hunter. He noticed my resume online and sent a job posting that I might be interested. The job fits exactly what I have been doing. On top of that it is in Mississauga.

For the past few weeks of job hunting, I am in a constant state of confusion. Am I competent for the job postings I am applying? Am I using the right words? The list drags on and on.

Life is funny. Over the past few years, I can’t recall how many times when I reach a low point in life. Days where darkness seemed to be all over. Days where I wonder if I can make it to the next. And time and time again I do. Time and time again, the Lord shows me the way.

I start to see life as a roller coaster. There are ups and there are downs. I know as I grow toward Christ, there will be even more ups and downs. Sometimes I get weak at heart and wonder if I cannot deal with the downs. But deep down, I know that’s how God molds me. Since I am a Christian, that’s just the way it is. And since I know He is in control, I might as well enjoy the ride. ( or as I alway say..if it ain’t hard, it ain’t fun…[how so many times i regret for saying that 🙂 ])

From losing three teeth till having enough funds to fix them.
From wondering where to find the money to get my tri gear to someone sending me his wetsuit for free.
These are experiences that remind me someone is taking care of my path and He will always be there.

Today, on my way to the car from the community centre, I saw one of the most beautiful skies out there….all I can think about is God is good all the time.

Dusting off this blog

I have been blogging since 2005. That’s almost 20 years! Though not very consistent. What started with a triathlon blog turned into a Christian blog. And I stopped blogging in 2011 after I came to Singapore. These days, I’ve shared most of my thoughts on social media (Facebook, Instagram and

Fruit for thought: The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill

I recently finished listening to the whole series of podcasts on The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. It has been a sobering podcast to listen to. I highly recommend for those who are in seminary or going to ministry full-time to listen to. It is a good reminder that

Five Books Recommended for Christian Parents

Here are a few books I highly recommend for Christian parents. I read them for my M Div thesis. My thesis was persuading how parents should discipling their children, not the church. Book #1 – The Disciple-making Parent by Chap Bettis I never thought my role as a father was
