More money do not solve money problems

Share post ->

I shared this with a friend the other day. The solution to money problems is not having more money.

“You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” - Haggai 1:6 NKJV

We think if we make more money, our money problems will go away. But I don’t think so. Look at these verses. God is saying you make, but you won’t have enough. I believe these verses are applicable to us.

In Haggai, God is angry at the Israelites bc they focused on their home and wealth and neglected to rebuild the temple. The temple is God’s glory and they ain’t focusing on that. God is saying focus on Him (rebuild the temple) and your needs will be met.

These verses in Haggai, where God says you make but you will not have enough or will not eat, are also repeated in other prophetic books, especially when Israelites were worshipping idols and not God.

Ministry Is Not a Marathon—Unless You Run It Right

Thoughts of a 40 something

Being 40s is an interesting season. I am now seeing my girls growing up. I am seeing my parents growing old. And I also realize that I am growing older. The general belief is that younger is better. If you are 30, it is like you are 20. If you

Six months

This is a little celebration for Team Tam. We have been in Tanzania for six months. Truth be told, I never thought we would be able to stay here for this long. In my mind, there is always this lingering feeling that we must leave the country. Maybe they deny
